"The job of territory manager requires a self motivated and dedicated individual as most of the time you are on your own. You must have a genuine desire to help and teach. The best advice is to research this job as it requires a lot of travel time and patience and understanding particularily with the Hispanic community. Some of the agents cannot read nor writh English."

"The company was not very flexible when it came time to address the rates of exchange as they related to the Mexican market. The company was also somewhat behind on the technology in terms of the equipment that they had to offer their agencies."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The single very important suggestion that I have for management is to listen to their territory managers that are out in the field dealing with the agencies and the competition. The reaction time to get answers to important questions from those of us that deal with problems at the agency level. Provide their contract in Spanish so that they many be understood by the agents especially with regards to their rights and responsibilities."
